Chris Connelly grew up in Edinburgh where he had formed his first band, Finitribe, in 1984. After meeting with Al Jourgensen in November, 1986, in London's Southern Studios, the two collaborated on several projects, with Connelly largely taking the role of songwriter and vocalist. Shortly after, he moved to Chicago and became a part of the evolving Chicago industrial scene.
